Step by Step Demonstration: Pastel LandscapeTo do this demonstration, you’ll need a piece of Canson Mi-Tientes “Ivy,” 8 1/2” x 11” or 9” x 12”. Ivy is in the Canson Mi-Tientes “Heritage” 25 sheet pad, an inexpensive way to get variety in Canson Mi-Tientes when I don’t want to purchase full sheets. In stores it is often available in 8 1/2” x 11” sheets individually. You will also need a pencil, a ruler, a kneaded eraser, a tortillon or stump, a damp towel, rag or washcloth and a dry one, a can of workable matte fixative and a set of assorted or Landscape soft pastels.

Most of the products mentioned in this article are available at Dick Blick or ASW (Art Supply Warehouse), which is a subsidiary of Jerry’s Artarama. My first lesson in getting good artist grade supplies for cheap came with a Dick Blick mail-order catalog back in 1990, and a discount flyer from the now-vanished mail-order house United Art and Education Supply. I wound up buying a 120 color Prismacolor (Premier) set for $37 on United’s loss leader flyer and learned to stop shopping in physical art stores except to test supplies or look in the Clearance bin.

Please don't worry that because I've shut down my personal gallery, I won't participate here anymore.  I will maintain ~Minstrel-Ayreon exactly as it has been.  The only difference is that I will not submit any more of my own works if I should do more Ayreon-inspired things.  

The Minstrel fully supports °jark.  I have decided to keep the club's operations running normally in the hopes that °jark will win his legal battles.  I am completely in support of DA's TRUE founders.

Has anyone got an IRL wallpaper of any Ayreon cover art?

I mailed Jef Bertels and asked if he had made any copies of any of his paintings. He answered that he is in the future going to make copies of his work. I'd die for one of his paintings, but they are so expensive! :p
